When your child goes through life, their path is special and has its own ups and downs. But if your child faces extra challenges because of their special needs, those challenges might seem really big. Sometimes, you just want to find a place where your child can be understood, helped, and encouraged. That’s where Nurture Pods Centre comes in. It’s like a safe and caring place where kids with different abilities can grow and change in a positive way.

A Centre for Child Development & Early Intervention

At the centre, we offer special help for children like yours who might need a bit more support. We provide both personalized and group-based early interventions. We use a method called TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication-related Children), developed by the University of North Carolina. With this approach, our goal is to uncover your child’s strengths and help them learn skills for everyday life, school, and making friends.

In our center, we ensure there are only a few children for each teacher. We also offer a program designed to help children like yours prepare for mainstream school. Our aim is to assist your child’s smooth transition from special education (SPED) to regular school. Our teachers are trained in a special way to help children learn how to write well. We use a program called Handwriting Without Tears, which is highly effective for children with special needs.

At Nurture Pods, our staff undergo regular training and supervision to ensure the quality of the interventions we provide. We want to make sure the help we offer your child is of the highest quality. Our ultimate goal is to help your child become capable in various areas and achieve an independent and fulfilling life.

Nurture Pods Curriculum Includes:

  1. Jolly Phonics:

Jolly Phonics offers a fun way for your child to learn reading and writing. It’s divided into five parts: first, they’ll learn how letters sound, then they’ll practice writing them. After that, they’ll discover how to combine sounds to read words. Following that, they’ll understand the sounds in words to write them. Lastly, they’ll grasp tricky words crucial for reading and writing.

  1. Numicon:

Numicon is a unique method for kids to learn math. It helps them understand math better by focusing on three key aspects: discussing math, understanding number relationships, and recognizing patterns.

  1. Structured Teaching (TEACCH):

The TEACCH program assists children with autism in learning effectively. It originates from the University of North Carolina and has proven effectiveness. It’s specifically designed for kids who have their own unique way of learning.

  1. Activity-Based Intervention (ABI):

The Activity-Based Intervention, or ABI, supports kids’ learning through activities they enjoy. It teaches essential skills while they play and engage in daily tasks. This method offers various opportunities for learning in different ways.

  1. 1 to 1 ABA:

The 1 to 1 ABA approach effectively teaches children using established learning techniques. It enhances behavior through strategies such as gradual learning and positive reinforcement. These strategies are commonly employed at the center to aid children’s learning and progress.

  1. Speech Therapy:

The center’s speech therapist is certified by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC). This means they are trained to assist individuals in improving their speech and communication skills.

If you’re seeking assistance and support for your child with special needs, Nurture Pods Centre is here to support you. We understand that each child is unique, with their distinct way of growing and facing challenges. This is why we’ve established a special environment where these challenges aren’t obstacles, but opportunities for learning and growth.
